Dragon Ball super heading to hiatus

Dragon Ball Super anime fans, bad news! It’s not enough that we only get one episode a week, some episodes we don’t get any due to holidays! Now, a nightmare will officially begin in March of this year as Dragon Ball Super will go on hiatus. The news comes from a Japanese newspaper that says an anime called “Gegege no Kitaro” will take over Dragon Ball Super’s timeslot starting on April 1st, with Dragon Ball Super concluding in March. Goku’s voice actor, Masako Nozawa, will lend her voice as the father of the main character.

To extend the bad news, the television station which airs the beloved anime staring Son Goku, Fuji TV, will be airing sporting events in Dragon Ball Super’s timeslots on February 25 and March 11. That means, in theory, we only have eight more episodes left, including the up-coming Dragon Ball Super episode 124 (“The Fiercely Overwhelming Assault! Gohan’s Last Stand!!”), which airs on January 21, 2018.
Fuji TV says Dragon Ball Super is not over yet. Dragon Ball’s popularity is at an all-time high, with even parents and children worldwide getting into this hit phenomenon so it’s unclear why the series is going on hiatus and until when. We do know Dragon Ball Movie 20 is hitting theaters in December of this year so anime wise there is at least one thing we can look forward to until further notice.
